Cla!m the Campus – Just do it!
„We are eight architecture students forming the project team „Claim the Campus“. Through targeted interventions, we demonstrate where there is a need for collective action at the university. These experimental impulses illustrate the potential quality the Hochschule Bremen campus can achieve through active engagement and participation. Coordinated efforts by all university stakeholders aim to generate long-term shared benefits.“
We worked on several areas across the campus to create new spaces for learning, gathering, and relaxation. The forecourt in front of the cafeteria at Neustadtswall 30 was transformed into the Outdoor Mensa, with chairs and tables placed outside to activate the space, as well as into Green the Campus, a green living room featuring plants and informal seating. Inside, we reimagined the space as the Campus Green – Indoor Edition, where greenery served as a spatial divider, creating a calm, semi-private zone alongside the existing seating area.The first-floor gallery was converted into a quiet co-working space, providing a suitable
environment for focused study and collaboration. Lastly, we reactivated and redesigned the rooftop terrace as a new learning and event venue, encouraging both academic and social engagement.
